Coastal Forest Products’ state-of-the-art “green” facility, treats over 2,000,000 linear feet of product each month. The products coated by our finishing process include siding, trim, and decking. In most cases, coated-products can include a warranty of 5 to 25 years based on the product and coating.

In an effort to minimize our environmental footprint, more specifically our facility’s impact on air quality, we’ve incorporated several eco-friendly practices. This includes burning the VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds) emitted during the coating and recovering the heat produced through an RTO (Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer) for use in the drying stages of the process, as well as heating the warehouse.
Coastal Forest Products is very cognizant of our potential environmental impact. Our Quality Wood Priming process is both FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and SFI (Sustainable Forestry Initiative) certified through the Chain of Custody program.
In addition to the environmental advantages of our coating processes, there are many practical benefits of factory applied coating versus field application. Color and finish can be closely monitored and maintained in a controlled, in-door environment while utilizing the color matching capabilities of PPG Olympic and Cabot Stains. During our process the product is treated on all sides to minimize the intrusion of moisture prolonging the effectiveness of the coating. By completing the entire process within the factory the possibility of applying coatings over moisture, mold, dirt, or on weathered product is eliminated. Factory coating can also increase productivity by allowing installation of exterior products during the winter months when field coating is impossible.
