Flow Coating

Vacuum Coating

The Flow Coating process is quite simple. Unfinished product is fed through a stream of paint, stain or primer, then through a series of roller brushes to create an even coverage. The product is then handled by a machine attendant to be placed on the air-drying rack. Latex based products can be ready to package in a few hours, while oil based products can take 24 hours or more.   In the Vacuum coating process, negative pressure is created inside a tank by three large vacuum pumps. The liquid product is fed into the tank, creating a completely saturated atmosphere inside. Templates fit the raw product going into and coming out of the tank. The treated material is then moved along a conveyor into a large convection oven, producing a dry, finished product, ready to be packaged.  The entire process from start to "finish" takes about 11 minutes.
